Audrey M. Means, M.S.W. - I run the Day Partial and Intensive Outpatient Programs at the New Kensington site. We offer group therapy, family groups/sessions, psycho-educational groups, individual counseling sessions and referrals to other resources as appropriate. Also, the Continuing Care Group meets on Monday evenings from 5pm to 6:30pm.
Joseph Morlacci, B.S. -My groups focus on addiction and the process of recovery. I strongly emphasize the 12 steps and the principles of AA/NA. We start by building trust and honesty with the clients. Next, we move the focus to issues of denial and educating the client about the addiction process. The focus here is to educate the clients about the negative physical, social and psychological effects of their abuse and addiction. I then, with the help of the recovery group, begin to challenge some of the old thought patterns and introduce the client to a new sobriety centered value system.
