Ronald Cambest, B.S.W.
Chemical Dependency Therapist

I am trained as a Caseworker by Children Youth and Families of Allegheny County and performed case management functions for the Family Services Unit involving the assessment, diagnosis, and case planning of family services cases. I have experience as an out-patient therapist for Alliance Medical Services specializing in substance abuse treatment, methadone maintenance, out-patient and day treatment, and the treatment of pregnant/postpartum women. I participated in one-on-one and group counseling, bio-psych-social histories, after-care planning and referral, and crisis management. Additionally, I have worked as Admissions Director for a local Assisted Living / Nursing and Rehabilitation Center involved in a range of services including skilled nursing care, assisted living, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice care, home health care and rehabilitation therapy

What I like best about working a Greenbriar is the high level of professionalism I experience in conjunction with the relaxed and easy going atmosphere the staff provides. I feel like I fit in and that I am part of a work family. I feel the work we all do here at Greenbriar is invaluable, I know the ramifications of our work lives on in others and is paid forward and I feel like I make a genuine difference in the world. I look at clients from a Strengths Perspective and believe that recovery from addiction is not only possible but inevitable if the client takes direction and is willing to change for the better.
